Major international organizations and projects

The University is an active participant in sectoral international organizations, initiatives and projects

International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

  • MTUCI is the Russian node of the worldwide net of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU CTC) Centers of Excellence since 2003. During the existence of the ITU CPM, hundreds of top managers and leading specialists from the CIS region took part in the seminars and distance courses organized by it. Since 2014, our center has been in charge of two programs in the CIS region - "ICT Applications and Services" and "Cybersecurity".
  • As part of the Regional Initiative 5 implementation in the CIS region, in 2015-2017. MTUCI completed the project "Building confidence and security in the use of ICTs" for the International Telecommunication Union
  • University employees, on behalf of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, work as experts in the working bodies of the ITU groups:
    • Group on Capacity Building Initiatives (Prof. V. A. Dokuchaev),
    • Expert Group on Telecommunication / ICT Indicators (associate professor I.S.Sineva),
    • Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (Associate Professor I. Sineva),
    • Council Working Group for strategic and financial plans 2020-2023 (Prof. N.P. Reznikova).

Universal Postal Union (UPU)

In 2015, the Regional Training Center of the Universal Postal Union was opened in MTUCI. This RTC is part of a network of four UPU training centers located in different regions of the world. The RTC provides training for leading specialists of the CIS region in modern postal technologies under the guidance of world-class specialists.

Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC)

  • One of the RCC activities is to conduct Regional monitoring of info-communication development in the RCC member countries based on the statistical reporting of the RCC Communications Administrations. Various countries are leading the respective work on a rotating basis. Several stages of this work with the publication of a statistical collection were carried out by MTUCI within the framework of a corresponding research project.
  • By order of the RCC, MTUCI carried out the project "Research of distance education systems in the countries of the RCC participants", the results of which were used to improve modern technologies for personnel training and retraining in the CIS countries communications industry.

World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)

The University is an active participant in the development of the information society. Within the framework of the platform of the World Summit on the Information Society platform, MTUCI presents its projects, which are included in the global database and constitute an important contribution of Russia to the public coverage of interesting initiatives and projects on various aspects of info-communications.

  • At the WSIS Prizes in 2013, the C4 (Capacity building) the project “Educational ecosystem at the municipal level for intergenerational population adaptation to modern ICTs” was presented.
  • In 2015, under the C11 (International and regional cooperation), the Regional project of youth innovative potential development in ICT was presented and was also nominated for the WSIS prize.

European Commission (EC)

In European countries the global programs designed to harmonize the educational space and develop joint research are acting.
Erasmus Plus is an EU program that supports projects, partnerships, events and mobility in the fields of education, profesional training, youth work and sports. The program, working since 2014 to 2020, provides funding for the development of cooperation in all these areas, both between European countries and between European countries on the one hand and partner countries around the world on the other.
MTUCI is a member of a consortium of 18 academic and business partners from Russia, Kazakhstan, Spain, Great Britain, Poland, Austria, Italy and Lithuania, a candidate for the implementation of the project "Creation of a single information space for telecommunication universities in Russia and Kazakhstan" (CRISSI) within the framework of the Erasmus Plus program.

Finnish-Russian University Cooperation in Telecommunication (FRUCT)

Since 2007, MTUCI has been participating in the work of the Open Innovation Association "Cooperation of Finnish and Russian Universities in the Field of Telecommunications" on an permanent basis.

Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities (RKKTU)

MTUCI is a member of the Russian-Kyrgyz consortium of technical universities, whose task is to develop inter-university cooperation and train citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Russian technical universities.
